Our Experience
(Last visited October 2015)
Service: Order and pay at the counter, then your food is served to you. Very friendly and attentive service. Questions were all promptly answered.
Ambience: Totally cozy and quiet. Very classy kind of decor. You really feel like you step into an art gallery. I could totally spend all day working here but I would feel bad hogging the place during peak hours. Most importantly, I think the café was very well maintained and very clean. It has been over 3 years but you would think it’s a new place.
Coffee/ Drinks: Their coffee beans are not of single origins. I love their simple long black as it was nicely brewed, not over-extracted and not too acidic. However, I didn’t enjoy their flat white, most probably because of the milk they used. It’s a matter of personal preference because Adrena said she loved their cappuccino and didn’t agree with me that their milk tasted weird.
Food: I ordered Grand Brekkie. Liked the sesame toast even though it was a little hard. Sauteed mushrooms and potatoes were nice. The sausage somehow didn’t work for me. It was spicy and too salty so the taste didn’t go well with the rest of the stuff on my plate. Adrena’s pasta arrabbiata was overcooked and the sauce was almost tasteless.
Cakes/ Desserts: They have very good selection of cakes. The tiramisu is highly recommended by a lot of people but unfortunately for us, we visited this café on weekdays so we didn’t get to try as it’s only available on weekends. However, we would like to recommend that you try their lemon cheese. It’s towards the sourish side but it was amazing! The taste was rich and enough lemon zest to make it aromatic. We also tried the Ferrero Rocher cake which was quite a disappointment. It was not bad tasting but the chocolate wasn’t rich enough and it was rather dry.
